ODE TO EDITH KENDALL - My Surprise Fave!

Okay... Edith! This one was the surprise of the whole collection.

I adore the photo of Edith Kendall - a ranch hand in the 1920s. Her photo and that hat I instantly felt pulled to... not for me per say but I wanted it in the new line. It was ridiculously tall. It seemed fun to play with and explore the creative process - so I played. 

Then I took the hats on a photoshoot in and around Tucson, AZ. and when I saw the photos I kept feeling drawn to the hat. 

Was I insane? I am 5'4. 

But the photos were my favorites. And I found myself putting the sample on in my studio and it felt so good! Like a perfect hug for my head. 

So one day I boldly wore it out and about to the grocery store. It took some nerve I will share that with you. But I also felt so strong. I loved the look of the entire outfit with this hat. And it worked! Compliments from strangers (always the sign of success).

Not only that but every outfit I pair Edith with takes it to a whole new level - from skirts, dresses to button down shirts and jeans. I felt myself enter an entirely new era. 

And now... my personal Ode To Edith Kendall has become my #1 favorite hat for summer. I wear this one more than any other. 

It's good to be bold.
