I have a deep love for toquilla straw (what we know as panama). And I had originally made a wide-brim version of my Signature Fedora a long long time ago... maybe 10 years or so. And that hat traveled with my other Signature panama here and there and through NY, Montana, Arizona, France, etc. 

I wore that hat out. (It now is my pool hat.)

So when I made the Kate I instantly knew I was going to keep the sample. For those summer days when wearing something classic with perfect shade is a must. I love everything about this hat. Uncomplicated beauty.
